Haier TV Problems

The Haier brand does not need any detailed introduction. Over the years, these guys have been releasing high-quality products that compete with big brands like Samsung through various TV models.

However, similar to other appliances, your Haier TV may fail due to various reasons. The good news is that most of the Haier TV problems are not always as complicated as they may look. You don’t even have to incur costly expenses to resolve them.

So before you order an expensive replacement, or call in specialized expertise, consider troubleshooting your TV to see if the problems resolve.

Here are some of the common problems associated with the Haier TV that you might want to know. We’ve also included some troubleshooting tips to help resolve these issues.

Haier TV Problems and Fixes

Haier TV Won’t Turn On                                                                                          

While this is one of the fairly common problems associated with Haier TVs,  it’s good to note that the problem may not entirely stem from the TV itself. Your Haier TV may fail to turn on due to power problems or issues with the power socket. Here are the instructions to help find out if the problem is with the power source of the TV.

Check whether the current power supply in the power source is being delivered properly or not. In case of any electrical supply problem in the socket, call your electrician. You might want to connect another device to the same power socket to confirm this.

If the power supply is okay, check whether the supply line is properly inserted from both ends. Inspect the power switch of the TV whether it is jammed. If the issue persists, consider unplugging the TV and waiting for one minute. After that, reinsert plug into the main socket and turn on the TV again.

Haier TV Won’t Turn on but the Red Lights is On

If your TV is failing to turn on but the red light is on, this could mean the TV is getting a signal. The signal cable could be loose or have fallen off. Check whether the signal cable is loose or not or has fallen off. Then ensure that it is connected properly.

If the signal connection is fine, consider resetting the TV by unplugging it from the wall plug for ten minutes. Press and hold the power button on the TV for one minute and then turn it on. If the problem is not solved, try the steps:

• Disconnect the power cord from the TV and wait at least 60 minutes
• Press and hold the power button on the TV for one minute
• Keep holding the power button while plugging back in
• Hold for another one minute
• Go directly to the wall outlet when plugging in, bypassing any power strips or surge protectors.

If the problem is not resolved yet, then it could be a hardware failure. The problem could either be the Main Board, or the IR sensor, or both. You might need the help of a specialized expert or contact the Haier support team for further assistance.

Haier TV Sound Problem

Your Haier TV might have sound issues due to the following reasons:

• The sound is muted
•  The volume setting is low
• The sound system is incorrect

To resolve the problem, try these troubleshooting tips

• Adjust the volume by pressing the VOL+ button on the Haier remote control or on the TV
• Check whether the TV is muted by pressing the mute button on the remote control
• Inspect the audio frequency input signals.

Haier TV Not Responding to Remote Control

There are several reasons why your TV may fail to respond to the remote control. Below are the troubleshooting tips to help resolve the issue:

Make sure the batteries in the remote are working and replace with new ones if necessary.

Inspect whether the remote controller display receiving window to see if it is blocked by other objects

Make sure the remote control sensor lens on the TV is clean

Select the TV mode to make sure the remote control is set in the TV mode.

Haier TV Blue Light With No Picture             

Your TV may show a blank screen with only blue light but no picture. This could point to a problem with the backlight inverted board or the power supply.

To resolve the issue, unplug the TV from the outlet for about an hour so that the TV reset itself before connecting. If that doesn’t work, then check the power supply.

Check for burnt brown hot spots on the circuit boards, loose wires and connectors, capacitors with leaking/bulging top or seals, and blown fuses. Replace faulty capacitors and other damaged parts that you find.

To check whether the problem stems from the backlight inverted board, consider disconnecting the power cables to the backlight inverter board to see if the TV can come back on with sound.

Haier TV Turns Itself Off

There are various reasons why your Haier TV could be turning itself off. The problem could be that your TV timer has been set to turn the TV off automatically after a specific time.

To disable this function, press OK to access the setting screen, and then use up/down arrow buttons to select “OFF” if the On/Off time function is enabled.

Note that if you’re using your TV with a satellite box or cable box, the TV may seem to be off but the SAT or the cable box is not turned on. So make sure the cable or sat box is turned on and the input on the TV is set to that particular box.

If the SAT box or cable box is turned on, they may not be sending a signal to your TV. You might want to press the info/guide button on the satellite box or cable box remote to test the sat/cable signal output.

If the TV displays the guide information after pressing the info/guide button, then the issue could be the cable or sat box.

However, if the TV does not display the guide information, you will have to change the input source on your TV using the input button on your remote.
